First Lutheran Community Church is all about relationships. Jesus summed up the entire Scriptures when he told us to love God and love each other. Where some churches emphasize religion, rules, or rituals… we believe the Gospel calls us first and foremost into relationship.

We believe in God as revealed in the Trinity – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is One, yet chooses to relate to us in three distinct ways.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God through which God reveals himself and upon which we base our faith. We believe that the church, be it a local congregation or the worldwide fellowship of believers, is the Body of Christ. Each child of God is uniquely gifted. We affirm and identify with the confessions of the Lutheran Church, with its emphasis that we are “saved” entirely by God’s grace through our faith in the cross of Jesus Christ. The way we live our lives as Christians is a reflection of God’s incredible love and forgiveness.

We like to practice “joy” at First Lutheran Community Church, and you will find our worship, our service, and our conversations seasoned with laughter. The word human and humor come from the same root word and God is the author of both. Although we take God seriously, we try not to take ourselves too seriously.
