BLOOD DRIVE

First Lutheran started hosting blood drives in September of 2002 for the Puget Sound Blood Center (PSBC) Drives are conducted in the fellowship hall and everyone is encouraged to donate. First Lutheran has been very successful with their drives and as a result was recognized by PSBC in 2004 with a “Community Service Award”.

The blood drives for 2010 are:Jan 16th, Mar 20th, July 24th, Sept 18th & Nov 20th. The time is from 8:00 to 2:00. Richard, 876-5287 rcandkc@wavecable.com , will be pestering you for an appointment. If you have health or travel issues call PSBC in Silverdale at 337-1985.

Raisins, grape juice and liver are beneficial for those who have iron problems.

Since we started these drives, over 2200 people have registered and given their blood to help those in need. After collecting the whole blood, it is transported to Renton where it is centrifuged into three components and used as needed. Therefore each ONE UNIT of whole blood benefits THREE PEOPLE.
